To provide resources and opportunities to people to learn, upskill and grow to become better at their existing jobs and progress further in their careers.
To empower employees with the resources to pursue relevant short term and long term training programs (inhouse/external) and e-learning courses that will benefit their roles within the organization.
The connection between the learning and self development policy and focus on growth relates by enhancing the knowledge and skills of employees, which aligns with the principles of self-motivation, proactiveness, embracing change, and upskilling to foster personal and career development.
This policy applies to all the full time – probation and confirmed employees of Uplers/ Mavlers with a designation below Associate Director.
1. All department heads are allocated a budget for learning and development, enabling them to incur expenses on upskilling their team members to remain relevant in their domain, advance their careers, and enhance their roles.
2. There are two modes of availing learning:
a. Department Head Nomination: A department head can nominate any employee under their supervision for a training or e-learning program.
b. Employee Request: An employee can request enrollment in a training or e-learning program through the manager, HRBP or via SPOC of Learning & Development (L&D) vertical. over only a part of the overall cost and the rest to be borne by the employee
3. The nominations must be submitted to the L&D department at least four weeks prior to the start of the training program or e – learning courses.
4. The cost of training or e-learning programs will be charged to the employee’s department learning budget unless otherwise specified.
5. In the event of training, any cancellation or no-show fees will be charged to the employee’s department unless the absence is due to a pre-approved reason.
6. The employee must successfully complete the course. If a training/course/program or e- learning is not completed or is unsuccessful, reimbursement will not be approved.
Guidelines for Manager/HOD or Leader Nomination
1. Leader, HOD or reporting managers to nominate employees who need to attend specific training based on the needs/gaps that are identified from performance reviews, development plan, and skill requirements.
2. Nominations for training or e-learning programs must be communicated to the designated SPOC of the L&D department or submitted via email learning@uplers.in

Guidelines for Self Nomination
1. An employee can self nominate for enrollment to a training or e-learning program by communicating their needs to the designated SPOC of the L&D department, via email learning@uplers.in or via Wishlist.
2. The self nomination request via email to include:
3. L&D to scrutinize the request and forward the relevant request to the HOD.
4. The HOD to assess the request on the following parameters:
Guidelines for Approval
Upon evaluation, of the nominations the manager and L&D to collectively:

3. Post completion of the training program or e- learning the employee to raise reimbursement claim to the L&D department within 60 days of completion of the program (no approvals would be guaranteed post 60 days)
4. The employee to receive reimbursement within 15 days from the date of raising payment request.
1. Attendance is mandatory for any training or e-learning program an employee is nominated for or has requested and been approved for.
2. Employees nominated for training or e-learning must confirm their participation. Once confirmed, attendance is obligatory unless a valid reason (e.g., medical emergency) is provided and approved by the manager and the L&D department.
1. The L&D department will monitor the start dates and completion rates of e-learning programs and provide reminders to employees and their respective managers..
2. Failure to start or complete an e-learning program within the specified timeframe without a valid reason may result in disciplinary action and potential charge of any incurred costs to the employee’s department
Employees should keep the information regarding financial details, or any identifiable data of employees who have submitted assistance requests, including but not limited to competitors, unauthorized personnel, or any individuals lacking a legitimate need for access.
The organization reserves the right to vary, replace or terminate this policy from time to time.
