Flexi Holiday Policy
Objective
The primary objective of the policy is to make availing of Holidays for a calendar year a seamless process with easy-to-follow guidelines for all Full-Time Employees at Uplers Solutions Private Limited.
Scope
The policy would define prescribed procedures and rules to update the Holiday list for each employee before the start of a Calendar year. Employees may choose the allocated count of Holidays from the Flexi Holiday List as per their preferences.
Definitions
Flexi Holidays
Flexi holidays are chosen by an employee from the published list. The number of such holidays is 5 per year.
Yearend Fixed Holidays
There would be 5 fixed holidays towards the end of the year which would be applicable to all employees. These can not be interchanged with the flexi holidays.
Default Holidays
There would be 5 default holidays that would be applicable to all the employees who fail to choose their preferred choice of flexi holidays within the specified deadline. This list would be published along with the flexi holiday list.
Rules
Current Employees
- Employees would get a window to update the 5 default holidays to other flexi holidays during the month of November for next year. In cases where no action is taken by the employee within the specified timeline, they would be assigned 5 default holidays by force, and any future changes wouldn’t be entertained.
New Employees

- For new joiners, the above holiday allocation criteria would be followed, meaning new joiner joining during quarter 1 (1st Jan – 31st Mar) would get 5 flexi holiday balance which they can choose, and so on.
- The new joiner would get a week’s time from their DOJ to make their choice, in case they fail to do so default holiday list would be applicable as per the above allocation.
General Rules
- In case there is any change in the date of any holiday the same would be published at least one month prior by the HR department, and all employees impacted by that change would be compelled to adhere to that. The People & Culture department at its discretion may offer an option to choose another holiday in lieu of the one which was changed.
- The People & Culture department reserves the right to cancel any of the holidays at its discretion, the intimation for the same would be made at least one month prior. All the impacted employees of such change would be given an opportunity to choose another holiday from the published list in lieu of the one changed.
Ownership, Review & Approval
This Policy is owned and administered by the People and Culture department and must be reviewed and updated (at least every 12 months). Any exceptions in the policy depend on the sole right of the Associate Director- People & culture only.
Uplers reserves the right to update this policy periodically.
